The number and value of prizes at this year’s Carnival have been increased, a measure coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the event.
The prize for the Carnival Nymph has been increased to €1,600, with €1,200 for the runner-up and €1,100 for third place.
For the Carnival parade there are 35 prizes in 9 categories, with the largest prize for ‘group of twenty or more people’ being €900.
There are also 9 prizes to be awarded during the Burial of the Chanquete. The prizes for Pet Costumes will not be cash but will be trophies and certificates.
