The Guardia Civil has arrested six tarot telemarketers in Barcelona for allegedly extorting money from their customers by threatening to publish their recordings, one resident of Almeria paying over €28,000 to avoid publication.
For a three month period, the victim was threatened with the publication of private conversations until finally he paid up. He is not the only victim of the gang who laundered their ill-gotten gains through bank accounts set up in the names of minors.
