It has been noticed that the current walkways linking the promenades at Burriana and Torrecilla beaches with the sandy areas are made of wood and, as a result, are easily damaged in one way or another.
It has therefore been decided to replace these wooden walkways with a more durable material and one in accordance with the environmental conditions encountered on the beach.
The recent meeting of the Local Government approved a statement of administrative requirements for the contract to install new walkways. Although the long term intention seems to be to upgrade the walkways on the majority of Nerja’s beaches, the initial project will just cover the two ‘Blue Flag’ beaches of Burriana and Torrecilla.
