A woman in her seventies died and a 100-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital following a fire on Thursday morning at a house in Ogijares, Granada province.
The fire originated in the basement of a building in urbanisation El Carmel, though to have been caused by an oil radiator.
The injured woman is in the ICU of the Hospital de Traumatología in Granada where her condition is said to be critical. She suffered burns to over 50% of her body.
Several other people had to be treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and anxiety attacks.
