Two people have so far been arrested in connection with a robbery in Torre del Mar in which the perpetrators posed as Post Office employees to steal €8,000 from an individual.
A woman in avenida Toré Toré in Torre del Mar was robbed of €8,000 she was keeping in a closet by individuals who post as Post Office employees. The woman also suffered several blows to the head during the robbery.
A preliminary investigation at the scene of the crime led to the identification of one of the perpetrators and he was traced to Algarrobo where he had rented an apartment under a false name. A search of the premises resulted in the discovery of various drugs and drug-related paraphernalia.
Later, a second person was detained for allegedly helping the robber to escape and for helping to hide him.
