Snakes on the loose

Officers from the GRUPRONA unit of the Local Police in Málaga were called upon to deal with two serpents on the loose in the town, these being Horseshoe Whip Snakes, Hemorrhois hippocrepis.

The first individual, a 50 centimetre specimen, was located at the junction of avenida Salvador Allende and calle Leopardi where it was busy munching on a gekko.

The second snake, measuring one metre in length, was reported on the patio of a house in calle Pizarro. Both creatures were safely captured and delivered to the Parque Zoosanitario Municipal and placed in the care of the Recovery Centre for Endangered Species (CREA).
