Antonio Morales has died aged 70 years

The musician Antonio Morales, known as ‘Junior’, was found dead on Tuesday at his home in Torrelodones, Madrid. He was 70 years old.

Antonio Morales was born in Manila, Philippines, in 1943 and moved to Spain at the age of 15 years and started his musical career, first with the band Jump and later with the legendary Los Brincos, dubbed the ‘Spanish Beatles’.

Some of his major hits were ‘Baila la pulga’, ‘Flamenco’, ‘Sola’,  ‘Tú me dijiste adiós’, ‘Mejor’, ‘Renacerá’ and ‘Un sorbito de  champán’.

In 1970 he married the singer Rocio Dúrcal, who died in 2005, with whom he had two daughters, the actress Carmen Morales and singer Shaila Dúrcal.
