A total of 28 people killed on the roads over Easter

A total of 28 people died in 22 fatal accidents on the roads in Spain during the Easter period from 15:00 on Friday April 11th to 20:00 on Sunday April 20th, two more than during the same period last year.

Last year was a record low for fatalities on the roads during the Easter period. There were more vehicles on the roads this year, the generally excellent weather thought to have encouraged people to get out and about.

From Wednesday to Sunday, some 7.5 million vehicles took to the roads. Today, Monday, is a holiday in Castilla-La Mancha, Cataluña, Comunidad Valenciana, Navarra, País Vasco and La Rioja.
