An anonymous author in Ronda has set up a Twitter profile called Calles de Ronda where people are encouraged to report, and photograph where applicable, details of damage to roads, street lighting problems, potholes, loose slabs etc etc.
The idea is to bring these to the attention of the Department of Works and Urban Development, headed by Councillor Isabel Barriga.
Over 130 photos of damage to roads in the city have so far been posted and in the recent Council meeting, the opposition recommended that the Councillor for Works and Urban Development should ‘follow’ the profile and act upon the complaints contained therein.
The Councillor responded that she was aware of the profile but noted that there were other channels available for such matters.
However, the Councillor has begun to reply to some of the messages.
