Twenty people were injured before a football match between Chiclana B and del Xerez Deportivo on Sunday as two groups did battle in Chiclana.
The fight broke out at 17:30, half an hour before the kick-off in the Provincial Second Division match between Chiclana B and del Xerez Deportivo.
Two groups crossed the bridge over the río Iro calle La Vega and, armed sticks, began fighting. Twenty people were injured in the brawl, including one man who needed hospital treatment. One of the combatants was thrown from the bridge.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident but no arrests have been made as yet.
