Three people have been arrested in connection with the death of a young child at a home in Marbella, the child exhibiting injuries suggesting a possible case of abuse.
The child, of Moroccan origin, died on Sunday at a home in the El Barrio district of Marbella. Medics observed that the child had numerous bruises, scars and even a burn on his foot.
The child was in the care of a woman and her partner, the mother having been absent from the house for several days. The mother was eventually located and arrested.
The carers stated that the child had fallen down the stairs a few days earlier and his condition subsequently deteriorated day by day.
