Local Police Chief sentenced to prison term for forgery

The chief of the Local Police in Torrox, José Roque Fernández, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment, a fine of €1,080 and two year’s suspension from public office after being convicted of forgery.

The Málaga Provincial Court found the case proven against José Roque Fernández, ruling that he prepared a certificate, on behalf of the mayor, which stated that a certain officer had successfully completed a course on gender violence when, in fact, she had not actually attended.

The officer in question was absolved of any involvement in the deceit.
