A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit on the head during an attempted robbery at his home in Vélez-Málaga.
The Emergency Services received notification of the incident at 00:21. The victim was apparently beaten over the head with a log from a wood-burning stove as the thieves attempted to enter his property.
