A 51-year-old Municipal Police officer in Bilbao has allegedly killed his parents and then committed suicide at a house in Barakaldo, Vizcaya.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at around 18:00 at a house in calle de la Bondad in Barakaldo. A family member, unable to contact his relatives, called the police who sent a patrol to the house. Unable to get a reply, firefighters were called and entry was gained through a window.
In the house they found three bodies, the 51-year-old officer and his parents. All showed signs of violence and investigators are trying to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident, although they do not believe anyone else was involved and the main hypothesis is a murder-suicide.
