Rincón de la Victoria Council will have the use of three cleaning boats during the summer, two operating from June 15th to September 15th and one from July 1st to August 31st.
The boats, arranged through the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Axarquia, will operate along the beaches of the municipality, removing solid objects and surface scum.
The Council expects to save €50,000 on the service compared to last year as a result of the use of a different type of boat and renegotiation of the contract rates with the company providing the service.
This year, the Council is not receiving a subsidy from the Junta de Andalucia either for cleaning or the installation of marker buoys.
