A 12 metre long young Fin Whale was washed up on the shore near Sancti Petri in Chiclana de la Frontera, Cádiz, on Wednesday morning.
The giant cetacean was found at around 07:00 by municipal cleaning staff. Examination of the whale by experts has lead to the conclusion that it died at sea about two weeks ago and was washed ashore by the tides in the area.
After examination, the whale was cut up ready for disposal in a local landfill site.
