750 to benefit from provincial training scheme

A total of 750 young people aged between 16 and 35 years will be participating in 50 workshops in 10 municipalities in Málaga province, the aim being to help improve career opportunities within the service industry.

This initiative is from the Málaga Provincial Council and is particularly aimed at young people who are currently unemployed. There are workshops covering such areas as small business management, furniture restoration, organic farming, window dressing, furniture assembly, preparation of grilled meats, bar and waiter training and an introduction to digital photography.

Each workshop will last ten hours in total and will take place between July and November at times to be determined by the individual municipalities.

The workshops, which are free,  are being taught by the Association of Professionals of Training Workshops in Málaga (APETMA) and completely funded by the Málaga Provincial Council. The only thing the individual municipalities have to do is choose five workshops from the list and sign up those interested in attending the sessions.

Therefore, anyone interested in participating (aged between 16 and 35 years and preferably unemployed) should contact the relevant municipal Department of Youth.
