Seprona officers have arrested a 56-year-old resident of Algeciras as the suspected author of the fire on July 24th that devastated 167 hectares of land in Arroyo de la Miel.
The fire destroyed 167 hectares of ecologically valuable land in the Parque Natural de Los Alcornocales. The police investigation led to the arrest of 56-year-old JCS, a resident of Algeciras. It is believed that he started the fire then hid in the area before walking home.
Police are also trying to establish whether he has any connection with previous fires in Arroyo de la Miel.
