Some 200 swimmers took part on Sunday morning in the 18th Across Nerja Swim which was held at Burriana beach, the distance covered being 1,200 metres.
First to finish in the male category was Catalan swimmer Guillem Puyol from the Club Natación Mataró in a time of 12 minutes and 29 seconds. In second place, 13 seconds adrift, was Pedro Miguel Serrano from the Club Córdoba Swimming and in third place was Pablo Benitez from the Club Natación Mijas.
In the female category, the winner was Paula Ruiz from the Real Club Mediterraneo in a time of 12 minutes and 47 seconds, with Maria Dolores Ruiz of the Club Natación Torremolinos in second and Maria Belén Morales of the Club Natación Churriana in third.
In the junior ranks, where the distance covered was 500 metres, the winner was Marco Jurado in a time of 8 minutes 29 seconds. Hugo Mato was in second place and Maria Claro finished third.
