There are two competitions taking place this month in the Barriada de Las Protegidas (the area around Plaza de Andalucia), the Decorated Fronts and Doors and the II Desserts Contest.
The competition for best decorated facades and doors will take place on September 18th from 17:30 when the jury will be visiting the participating homes. There is one prize of €30 and a plaque for the best facade and one prize of €30 and a plaque for the best decorated door.
Registration for the competitions can be made at the Maria V laundrette in Plaza de Andalucia or by contacting a member of the local Association of Residents. The deadline for entries is September 16th.
The II Dessert Contest takes place on September 20th from 13:30 in Plaza de Andalucia. Participants must be 14 years of age or older and during the preparation of the desserts, the contestants may use any ingredients they so desire.
The first price for this contest is €80 and the second prize is €40. The deadline for entries is also September 16th and can be made as per the Facades competition.
