A 12-year-old girl died on Friday night and a second child was injured after suffering an electric shock on a fairground ride in the village of Maribáñez in the municipality of Los Palacios y Villafranca in Sevilla province.
The injured child is under observation in hospital but is expected to be discharged in a few days.
The incident occurred at 23:55 on Friday night. Medics tried to revive the young girl but were unsuccessful. It is thought the electric shock came as the girls exited the ride.
The Feria was suspended and two days of mourning have been declared in the municipality.
