Two surfers, brothers from Pamplona, died this morning in Zarautz, Guipuzcoa, after getting into difficulty.
The two men, aged 44 and 46 years, were apparently not accomplished surfers and were not able to cope with the huge waves lashing the coast, according to some reports.
Fellow surfers, realising the pair were in trouble and injured, managed to get them to shore where medics tried to resuscitate them, unfortunately without success.
