As is not uncommon in Turkey, the groom at a wedding in the village of Akcagoze decided to fire a volley of shots into the air to celebrate his nuptials.
Unfortunately for his guests, he lost control of his AK-47 and ended up killing his father and two of his aunts. He also managed to wound another eight people. He was subsequently arrested.
Turks are notorious for firing gunshots to celebrate weddings and sports victories, a practice that has caused many deaths and which authorities have so far failed to curb.
