Valentino Rossi marked his 250th premier class Grand Prix with a win in the Australian MotoGP on Phillip Island, fighting back from eighth on the grid.
World champion Marc Marquez looked to be easing to victory but fell off his bike with 10 laps remaining.
It was Rossi’s 108th victory and his 82nd in MotoGP or its predecessor the 500cc class, which is the most by any rider.
