Two people, a man and a woman, died in the early hours of Saturday morning in a fire at an abandoned building in the Les Corts district of Barcelona.
The fire was reported at 02:58 and ten fire crews responded to the fire which was in the basement of a three-storey building. The building was boarded up and uninhabited except, apparently for the two victims. The cause of the blaze is not known.
One fireman was slightly injured. The fire was extinguished at 05:20.
