The Deportivo La Coruña fan who was critically injured on Sunday morning in clashes with Atlético Madrid supporters has died in hospital.
The unnamed man, aged 43 years, had been pulled out of the river following clashes between rival supporters near the Vicente Calderón stadium in Madrid. He was suffering from head injuries and hypothermia and was in cardiac arrest when he was transferred to hospital.
A total of eleven people were injured to varying degrees during the clashes, including from stab wounds, and twenty people were arrested.
