Body of smuggler washed ashore at Chiclana

Police in Chiclana have found the body of a man on the beach, apparently related to a drugs cache of 2,000 kilos of hashish being transported in three dinghies which capsized in bad weather on Friday.

In addition to recovering the body, police have arrested seventeen people who went to the beach to collect packages of drugs washed ashore.

On Friday, police intercepted three dinghies, overturned and adrift, two near Chiclana and one near San Fernando. Three crew members were rescued alive.
