The traditional Christmas Dessert Contest was held in Maro at the weekend with an excellent turnout and a very international selection of dishes for the jury to consider and the attendees to consume.
The winner was Ellis Peins, a Dutch national who has lived in Maro for twenty years, with her apple pie. Second prize went to Carmen Baca with traditional Christmas honey-dipped fritters and third prize to Marina Pulido with briwat, a traditional Moroccan sweet.
