A 50-year-old woman was found dead at her home on El Portil in Punta Umbría, Huelva, on Sunday morning following a fire at the premises.
The fire occurred shortly before 07:00 at the home in calle Focha and is thought to have started with a wood fire.
It was the woman herself who called the Emergency Services before taking refuge in the bathroom where her lifeless body was later found by firefighters. Death was apparently as a result of asphyxiation.
