A five-year-old boy died on Sunday afternoon after falling from the fifth floor of an apartment block in the Ciudad del Aljarafe district of Mairena del Aljarafe, Sevilla province.
The incident occurred at around 16:30 on Sunday while the boy, who suffers from autism, was in the care of his grandparents.
The parents were not at home and the boy had been left in the care of the grandparents, although at the time of the incident it is reported that it was the grandmother and an uncle who were present in the apartment, the grandfather having gone out.
Medics tried to revive the boy but he had suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene.
