Plans for the residential and hotel complex Juvigolf, to be located just north of Chilches, appears to be progressing, albeit slowly.
The residential and hotel complex of 1,534 homes and a four star hotel will house the third 18-hole golf course in the Axarquia, the others being Añoreta (Rincón de la Victoria) and Baveira (La Caleta de Vélez).
The plot of land is 1.7 million square metres and will involve an investment of around 300 million euros, with compensation to the Council of 7.5 million euros, 2.4 million of which still has to be paid.
The complex will include all sorts of recreation areas, 460 VPO houses, social club and sports complex. Drinking and irrigation water will come from Lake Viñuela.
The planning agreement for the complex was signed fourteen years ago and completion is currently expected between 2020 and 2025. However, a feasibility study has still to be made for the project, so things could change.
