Five people have been arrested in connection with a robbery in Torredelcampo, Jaén, in which two elderly people were savagely beaten, one of them later dying in hospital from his injuries.
The thieves, finding no money or jewellery at the home of their victims, savagely beat the couple, an 87-year-old man in particular. The victim was taken to hospital after the incident but died from his wounds.
The detainees were arrested following a routine check at a railway station in Zaragoza. While obtaining identification from the group, police officers noted that they were wanted in connection with the Torredelcampo robbery and they were duly arrested.
