Guardia Civil officers have recovered 150 kilos of hashish thrown overboard from a motorboat which was being pursued by a Coast Guard vessel in the mouth of the river Palmones in Los Barrios, Cádiz.
The incident began in the Bay of Algeciras when Guardia Civil officers spotted a motorboat known to be frequently used for drug trafficking.
The Coast Guard took up the chase, during which the traffickers hurled their cargo overboard. The traffickers managed to run their boat aground and fled the scene on foot.
Guardia Civil divers recovered the packages of drugs, 150 kilos in total.
