The Council has ordered the immediate removal of staff from workshops in and around the derelict La Maquinilla on health and safety grounds.
A report dated October 31st 2013 stated that the building was in a deteriorating state and a new report by municipal technicians, dated August 4th, pointed out that nothing had been done in the interim and that municipal workers should be removed from the area.
The evacuation of the municipal workshops began today.
