Following the recent easing of the lockdown rules there has been a massive increase in the number of people hiking around the Chillar River.
As a result, Nerja Town Hall has decided that recreational use of the area is prohibited for the present time.
The ban also includes its connection with the upstream Higuerón River for all recreational purposes.
Nerja Mayor José Alberto Armijo has called on all residents to respect the rules and be responsible given the Coronavirus’s current danger.
