Derelict buildings can, and often do, have a sort of fascinating charm about them, as is the case with La Maquinlla on the rio Chillar riverbed in Nerja, but the decision to use taxpayer money to just prop it up must be a dubious one.
Plans to prop up the north and south walls are set to cost €45,788.74. Money well spent, or could it be put to far better use?
Its only current use appears to be as an impromptu repository for bin bags.
