A rare functioning Apple 1 computer, the company’s first product, has been sold at an auction for $374,500 , more than double Sotheby’s estimate.

Only known photo of Billy the Kid sold at auction

The only known authenticated portrait of the notorious outlaw Billy the Kid has sold for $2.3m, six times the estimated amount, at auction in Denver, Colorado. The tintype, an early form of photo using metal plates, is believed to have been taken in 1879 or 1880 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico.

Pablo Picasso’s 1932 painting ‘Nu au Plateau de Sculpteur (Nude, Green Leaves and Bust)’ has set a new record for a painting sold at auction, selling for $106 million at Christie’s in New York. The painting, depicting the artist’s mistress, Marie-Thérèse Walter, has only been publicly exhibited once since 1951, the year it changed hands.
