Over 50 pairs from all over Andalucia took part in the Motril Beach Volleyball Championships at the weekend, including seven teams from Nerja.

Sixteen teams from the eight provinces took part in the Beach Volleyball Championships (Cadet) in Puerto de Santa Maria, Cádiz, at the weekend and the Nerja pairing of Armijo-Cereto and Sanchez finished in a creditable fifth place.

The Provincial Junior Volleyball Championship took place on Burriana beach at the weekend with 35 pairs taking part, 27 female and 8 male.

Local Nerja lass Ángela Lobato has been selected for the national U-18 Beach Volleyball squad who will be contesting the European Championships in the Greek town of Loutraki from August 28th to August 31st.

A team from the Nerja Escuela Municipal de Voley have become Beach Volleyball Champions of Spain in the junior section.
