Spartak Moscow 0-3 Barcelona

Barcelona have booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League with a comfortable 0-3 win against Spartak Moscow, with two goals from Lionel Messi and one from Dani Alves. That’s four wins and one loss, against Celtic, for Barcelona so far.

Another Champions League win for Málaga

The fairytale continues as Málaga recorded their third win in the Champions League with a 1-0 victory against AC Milan at La Rosaleda. Joaquin, who had earlier sent a penalty shot high over the crossbar, made amends by finding the net and the Blue and Whites have maximum points and are yet to concede a goal.

Wins for Valencia and Barcelona

Barcelona snatched victory with the last move of their match against Celtic in the Champions League. Samaras put Celtic ahead after 18 minutes and it took until the 45th minute for Barcelona to equalise, the goal coming from Iniesta.

Two out of two for Málaga

Two magnificent goals from Eliseu and a penalty from Joaquin saw Málaga to a comfortable win over Belgian side Anderlecht in their first away match in the Champions League and they top their group with a maximum six points.

Málaga 3-0 Zenit St Petersburg

Málaga’s first venture into the Champions League proper ended with an impressive 3-0 victory over Zenit St Petersburg and they now top their group.

Real Madrid 3-2 Manchester City

Real Madrid dominated their tie against Manchester City for almost 65 minutes, goalkeeper Hart almost single-handedly preventing a cricket score as Real attacked and attacked, until a quick break saw Edin Dzeko put the ball in the net to give City a surprise lead.

Champions League group stage draw

Málaga are drawn with AC Milan, Zenit St Petersburg and Anderlecht for the group stage of the Champions League, Real Madrid have Manchester City, Ajax and Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona have Benfica, Spartak Moscow and Celtic and Valencia have Bayern Munich, Lille and BATE Borisov. Only had to look up CFR Cluj out of the 32 teams.

Málaga through to group stage of Champions League

Málaga are through to the group stage of the Champions League after a 0-0 draw in Greece against Panathinaikos, winning 2-0 on aggregate. Very few real chances in a match where, surprisingly, Panathinaikos showed little sense of urgency despite being two goals down from the first leg.
