Benamocarra Council has taken the first steps towards setting up a Civil Protection unit in the municipality. The plan is to house the unit, comprising 35 volunteers, in the old Chamber of Agriculture building. Training of the volunteers is scheduled to take place from July 6th to July 21st.
CPR course for the Civil Protection volunteers
The volunteers of the Nerja Civil Protection are participating in theoretical and practical classes as part of a CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) course being given by the Axarquia Health Department. The professionals who teach the classes have highlighted the need to perform CPR correctly, essential to save lives.
New Civil Protection building in Sedella
The Provincial Council, through the Department for Local Development and Road Network, has financed the construction of facilities for the Civil Protection in the municipality of Sedella. The building, which cost €32,748.79 to renovate, will share facilities with the recently inaugurated Centro de Interpretación de la Naturaleza del Parque Natural.
