The Council is trying once more to persuade the Junta de Andalucia to declare the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias as a place of Cultural Interest (Bien de Interés Cultural) or BIC as it is usually known.
Council wants to end ‘cultural interest’ link
The Nerja Council is wanting to end the ‘Cultural Interest’ link between the village of Maro and the Nerja Caves, something which has been in operation since the 1960’s and means that all building projects have to be approved by the Ministry of Culture.
