The Council is trying once more to persuade the Junta de Andalucia to declare the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias as a place of Cultural Interest (Bien de Interés Cultural) or BIC as it is usually known.
The baroque style Ermita was built in the XVIII and is decorated with 17th century frescoes from the Granada school. The Council made a similar appeal for BIC status for the Ermita in 2010.
