The GB gold rush continues in Beijing, it’s now 16 golds and 33 medals in total.
GB gold for Ainslie in the sailing
Britain’s Ben Ainslie has claimed the third Olympic gold medal of his sailing career by winning in the Finn class. Ainslie, aged 31 years, already has golds from Athens and Sydney as well as a silver from the Laser class in Atlanta in 1996.
Another GB sailing gold
Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson have added another gold to the GB pile as they Yngled their way to victory. The race had been postponed by 24 hours following Saturday’s windless day on the Chinese coast, but Sunday brought 15-knot winds and choppy seas.
Three more GB golds
Great Britain now has seven gold medals after winning three more on what is known as ‘Super Saturday’, a day when thirty gold medals were on offer.
