Work on the first section of the new wall and railings at Torrecilla beach and Plaza Los Cangrejos is coming along nicely. The first stretch is from the plaza right down to the beach and parts already have the decorative facade.
Square dancers…
A very different, interesting and entertaining diversion in Plaza Cavana this afternoon with a smartly attired couple dancing to the accompaniment of a (not-so smartly dressed) guitarist.
Tapas at La Puntilla
La Puntilla on calle Bolivia remains one of the top tapas bars in Nerja, full of character and serving some great tapas, especially for those who like fish. A small beer and a tapa is €1.50. On this occasion I had rather a nice salad for a change.
First paving stones laid
The first paving slabs have been laid in calle El Barrio at the Plaza Cavana end, a narrow corridor along the centre of the street. Still a long way to go with the rest of the street.

The works in calle El Barrio are progressing steadily, concrete being laid in the area near Plaza Cavana. Pedestrian access continues to be difficult and signs recommend avoiding the street and using calle Diputación as an alternative. However, such action would undoubtedly hit the local businesses even more.

The remaining pavement area of calle El Barrio is now being dug up making passage along the street more difficult.
Alternatives…
Apple, the company people seem to love to hate, certainly come up with some innovative, albeit expensive, ideas which everyone else then tries to emulate, though rarely surpass. This is not quite up to the technical standard of the iPod Touch but it certainly looks the part.
