New Iberia pilots will earn 40% less than existing staff

Newly recruited Iberia pilots will receive around 40% less salary than existing staff under an arrangement set out by Jaime Montalvo, mediator between the airline and the pilot’s union Sepla in the ongoing dispute over the setting up of the low-cost airline Iberia Express.

SEPLA calls off strike action

The Union of Spanish Airline Pilots, SEPLA, has apparently called off its industrial action following a government brokered agreement with the airline Iberia. A total of 24 days of strike action had been scheduled over the next three months.

More Iberia strikes planned

Iberia pilots have called another 24 one-day strikes during the next three months as part of their continuing protest at the airline’s plans to set up a low-cost airline, Iberia Express.

100 Iberia flights cancelled as a result of strike by pilots

Iberia has cancelled over 100 flights today due to the pilots strike called by the union SEPLA in protest at the company’s plans to start a low cost airline, Iberia Express, in March 2012. A second day of industrial action is planned for Monday.

Iberia pilots strike days announced

Iberia pilots have finally made up their minds about when to carry out industrial action and it will be on December 18th and 29th, dates apparently chosen so as not to create unnecessary disruption to tourism. The strikes will affect about 10% of scheduled flights on those days.
