Plaza de la Ermita and Plaza Cantarero

Quite a few workmen busy in Plaza Cantarero on Wednesday as the square slowly begins to take shape. On the other hand, no-one working in Plaza de la Ermita.

Building, new business…

Work on Plaza Cantarero appears to have ground to a halt, no sign of anyone on the site on Tuesday.

The renovations in Plaza Cantarero are continuing steadily and right up to the fountain bowl which is now carefully propped up. All the pillars appear to be set ready for the new pergola. Hopefully it will be plant-covered, similar to its predecessor.

Building projects

In Plaza Cantarero, the renovations are moving along, which is more than can be said of Plaza de la Ermita where little appears to have changed in the past week. The works in Plaza Cavana are now into their fourth month but there is still a long way to go before the square is finished.

Plaza Cantarero, February 23rd 2010

The renovations in Plaza Cantarero are continuing at a reasonable pace with the pillars for a new pergola in place. The fountain itself hasn’t been touched, but the entire area around it has been dug up. Presumably it will all be finished by the summer, at the latest, given that the estimated completion period was three months or so.

Oranges are strewn all over the floor as there has been quite a bit of progress on the renovation of Plaza Cantarero (Orange Square). The good news is that the ornamental fountain in the square has not been touched and looks set to remain as it is, or was.

Plaza progress

Both Plaza Cantarero (Orange Square) and Plaza de la Ermita were closed off four days ago ready for the renovations – rebuilding – of these squares. In Plaza Cantarero, almost half of the tiles have already been dug up and piled neatly around the square.

More building works

Both Plaza Cantarero (Orange Square) and Plaza de la Ermita are now sealed off ready for the start of renovation work, adding to the vast number of building projects currently in progress.
