Balcón de Europa and Plaza Cavana
These are the latest pictures from the Balcón de Europa and Plaza Cavana as the two sets of roadworks continue to converge, work now going on at the side of the El Salvador church. Several businesses have already been forced to close until the works are completed, a few more may well have to follow suit.
Calle El Barrio closed to traffic
Calle El Barrio is closed to traffic today, the latest closure due to the building works at the Balcon de Europa and in Plaza Cavana. Entering the area from Calle Diputación, exit is now only possible via calle Granada.

A lot of activity today Plaza Cavana as the renovation work appears to be getting properly underway and speeding up. Work has been going on in the central area, a huge mound of earth now in evidence, and at the side where new pipes are to be laid.

Demolition of Plaza Cavana to start next week
Work on Plaza Cavana, scheduled in two phases, will begin next week with the demolition of the existing square.
