To commemorate World Environment Day, Torrox Council inaugurated a new waste recycling centre – punto limpio – in Llano de la Almazara. Various local dignitaries were on hand for the ceremony.
Punto Limpio project in Vélez-Málaga
The proposed ‘punto limpio’ – waste collection/recycling centre – on La Pañoleta industrial estate will occupy an area of 5,000 square metres, cost €248,000 and, according to the Council, should be finished by the end of the year.
Ronda rubbish robbers rumbled
Two foreign nationals have been arrested by Local Police in Ronda after they were caught allegedly removing items from the Punto Limpio in order to sell them for scrap.
Punto Limpio in Rincón de la Victoria
The ‘Punto Limpio’ (Rubbish Collection Point) in Rincón de la Victoria has collected over 4,600 tons of waste materials during 2010, an increase of 10% compared to last year.
