Tapas at Barbacoa

A new tapas bar means giving it a go, so on a glorious Sunday lunchtime it was time to try the newly opened Barbacoa in calle Jaén, formerly home to the Andrea Inn and, subsequently, Diva’s Bar.

Barbacoa

The former Diva’s Bar on calle Jaén has reopened as ‘Barbacoa’, a tapas bar. No real structural change on the inside.

Las Niñas

The former Buenos Aires Steakhouse on avenida Mediterraneo is now Las Niñas tapas bar. Nice tapas, free with drinks, and a cup of coffee is only one euro.

Heaving…

Wandering around last night, while many of the more traditional bars were empty or as good as, quite a few of the Spanish tapas bars were doing a roaring trade. Los Pescaitos on calle Chaparil was packed to the rafters and the terrace was full, overfull even, with people queuing to get in. Alameda and The Andrea Inn (biggest tapas …

Los Barriles, Nerja – A Little Gem

Los Barriles is a tapas bar on calle Carabeo, Nerja, and would probably best be described as ‘no frills’, although unlike Ryanair there are no extras, hidden or otherwise, to bump up the cost, and the loos will always be free. There are no tiles on the floor and the tables are barrels, simplicity itself. And it works. The atmosphere …

Tapika’s

A new tapas bar in town, so what better excuse to stop off for a lunchtime drink. ‘Tapika’s’ is located on calle Chaparil, Nerja, just round the corner from calle Antonio Millón and two doors up from one of the best tapas bars in town, ‘Sevillano’, so it’s got some pretty tough competition to contend with. The premises were formerly …

Andrea Inn to reopen shortly…

Some beautiful cloud formations this evening and with the setting sun, pictureworthy. Didn’t have the camera, though. Next time. The Andrea Inn on calle Jaén is due to open again on November 15th, the new proprietors busy spring cleaning and the like. For those who didn’t know, the new owners are Marianne and Fredi who used to run the Peña …

La Bodeguilla

I’ve always liked the barrel tables outside La Bodeguilla on calle Antonio Millón, Nerja, pass them every day, but never really thought of the bar as a ‘tapas bar’ as such. Don’t know why, maybe the location. Until now, that is. What a find, and right on the doorstep. Well, almost. Everything’s relative.
