Tourist Office statistics

The Council statisticians have been working overtime to bring us the news that 834 people visited the Tourist Office during the ‘puente’ with 559 of them being Spanish and with the busiest day being Monday December 6th with 216 visitors.

Tourist office for Benamocarra

Benamocarra now has a Tourist Office, located in plaza el Calvario. The new facility was inaugurated by the Mayor, Abdeslam Lucena, accompaniied by Felipe Monje Sanchís, speaker at the recent Día de la Música, the Councillor for Culture, Juan Antonio González, the Councillor for Education, Isabel María Alba and the Councillor for Youth, María Leonor Muñiz.

Delay to new Tourist Office in Torre del Mar

Work on the new Tourist Office in Torre del Mar is running behind schedule and won’t now be finished until October according to the Councillor for Tourism, Javier Checa (GIPMTM).

Vandalism arrest in Vélez-Málaga

Police in Vélez-Málaga have detained a 19 year old youth thought to be part of a gang who caused damage to the Tourist Office on the Paseo de Larios in Torre del Mar over the weekend. The gang damaged street furniture and then hurled a large plant container at the Tourist Office.

Let there be music…

Not to Fall are playing at El Ancla, Peñoncillo beach, Torrox Costa, this evening, starting at 21:00. Should be a good night. Also ‘live’ music at the Temple Bar in calle Cristo tonight, starting around 23:00. On Saturday night, around midnight, Nacion Zero are playing at Coconuts. And a new entrance for the tourist office.

October visitors

According to the Town Hall, 9,414 people visited the Tourist Office during October, with the British leading the way with 2,373 followed by the Spanish with 1,415 and the Germans with 1,103.

New multi-purpose building in Torrox to open in September

Work has begun to furnish the new multi-purpose building near the Conejito roundabout in Torrox Costa and the current plan is for an official opening in September. The building, costing €5 million, features a library, Tourist Office and a new (second) office for the Mayor.

Tourist Office figures

According to figures released by the Tourist Office in Nerja, a total of 16,344 people visited the offices during the month of August. Of these, roughly 50% were Spanish visitors, 25 % were British and the rest a mix of people from 56 different countries. Nearly ready…

They’re putting the final touches to the new Tourist Office ready for the inauguration at 13:30 on August 29th, part of the Dia de Turista (Day of the Tourist) celebrations. The new Tourist Office is located on the ground floor of the Town Hall building in calle Carmen.
